David E. K. Abramson, a member of the Editors Guild for over 11 years and a graduate of the prestigious USC Film Production Program, has edited and assistant-edited features, movies of the week, and miniseries for Paramount, Disney, NBC, Warner Bros., Universal, DreamWorks, Lionsgate, MTV and numerous independent production companies. As editor, his most recent credit is the feature film The Indian, starring Matt Dallas of the ABC Family hit series Kyle XY.

Mr. Abramson recently co-directed the short holiday comedy Wreck the Halls, starring Mickey Rooney. He also directed comedy shorts A-Date, about love along the autistic spectrum, and Internet Dating, which became a festival favorite at both the Palm Beach International Film Festival and Dances With Films. He also directed the suspense short Paranoia; produced and directed the martial arts commercial Battle of the Sexes, which garnered meetings with Industrial Light and Magic Commercial Productions and others; and directed two commercial animatics (animated storyboards): The Hunt for Red Campbells and School Yard Politics. The latter was one of four entries, out of a field of over 1000, nominated as “Best Animated Ad” in MoveOn.org’s widely-publicized “Bush In 30 Seconds” political ad contest.

Further editing work includes Disney's series pilot Chicken Little, based on the animated feature, and Can You Dig It for executive producers Paul Germain and Joe Ansolobehere (Rugrats, Recess). His first-ever work in animation, The Replacements for executive producer Jack Thomas (Fairly Odd Parents), was immediately picked up to series and begins airing in 2006. Previously, Mr. Abramson edited significant portions of the feature-length Episode 3 of Steven Spielberg's mega-miniseries Taken. That episode was later nominated for an Emmy for Best Editing. He also recently contributed montage sequences to the MTV movie The American Mall.

Graduate of the Production Program, 1993 (MFA)

Mr. Abramson has authored four feature screenplays and one television series pilot. He is a sought-after consultant, leveraging his hands-on filmmaking experience to help screenwriters focus and improve their storytelling.

He also produced the low-budget feature Trespasses.

Mr. Abramson acted for four years as part of an ensemble group affiliated with the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He appears in his own short film, Paranoia.
